Sunshine Castle and Marcoola Surf Club
Travelling north today to visit the iconic Sunshine Castle, on route we will stop for Morning tea at the Maroochy Bushland Botanical gardens with time to wonder the Statue Garden.
The Sunshine Castle is an award winning tourist attraction and function venue. Much in the tradition of Castles all around the world the Sunshine Castle captures the imagination of old and young alike. A stand out landmark in this location, this Norman style Castle with medieval additions, complete with moat, turrets, towers and drawbridge is completely unique in Australia.
The Castle is filled with medieval displays and other exhibitions that you are able to explore at your own pace in a self-walk tour. Wander over the drawbridge into another time and feast with Kings in the Great Hall or squalor in shame in the dungeon. The Castle keep is a 24 metre lookout tower that offers stunning views from Coast to Hinterland. Originally built to house a collection of dolls and fairytales there is still a significant collection of dolls and fairytales on display.
We then head to the ocean and travel along the scenic coast, stopping at Marcoola Surf Club for lunch. Enjoy the view over the water whilst an alternate drop lunch is served followed by dessert, tea or coffee.
Then it will be time to head home after a historic and tasty day!
