FAQs
Q1: Is the increase of $1,051.30 a bonus or a permanent increase?
It is a permanent, indexed increase in benefits – this is the new regular rate and not a one-off payment.
Q2: What will be the increase date in my bank account?
This new rate will take effect on 18 October 2025 and reflect on your first post-indexed payment after this date.
Q3: What do I do to check whether I am eligible or what I am going to pay?
The eligibility of DSP is by age, disability, residence, medical conditions, and income/assets. Test your payment information through myGov or Services Australia.
Q4: Can DSP recipients work?
Yes, but any bank beyond the income threshold would pay less- see Services Australia, income test rules.
